Mumbai: Adani Electricity employees have taken part in a voluntary corporate social responsibility (CSR) project organized by the Adani Foundation. The initiative aims to express gratitude for the sustenance of society through two key projects: ‘Utthan’ learning program for BMC school students and ‘Swabhimaan,’ a skilling program dedicated to promoting sustainable livelihood development for women in underprivileged areas of Mumbai.
The partnership between Adani Foundation and Adani Electricity has resulted in the active involvement of Adani Electricity’s leadership teams in community engagement. They have dedicated their time alongside beneficiaries of the Utthan and Swabhimaan CSR projects.
The volunteers from Adani Electricity participated in various activities to better understand the needs and challenges faced by the consumers they serve. In the ‘Mothers Meet’ program, designed to boost attendance and retention of students, the volunteers directly interacted with beneficiaries, teachers, and parents affected by the Utthan CSR activities in BMC schools. Additionally, they participated in ‘Reading Clubs’ that focus on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
The Swabhimaan program aims to empower women in lesser privileged areas of Mumbai by providing them with skills that lead to sustainable livelihoods. During their interaction with the program beneficiaries, the volunteers discussed market access enablers and resources that could further support the women in their craft-based skills, including jewellery making, masala creation, and home decoration.
The ‘Utthan’ project focuses on enhancing students’ learning abilities and fostering academic success. By providing the necessary support and resources, the initiative empowers students to achieve better educational outcomes.
The Adani Electricity employees actively volunteering for these CSR projects demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact on the communities they serve. Through their participation, they not only offer valuable support to underprivileged students and women, but they also gain a better understanding of the unique challenges faced by these groups.
The efforts of Adani Foundation and Adani Electricity exemplify the importance of corporate social responsibility in building sustainable and inclusive communities. By focusing on education and skill development, they contribute to the holistic development of the marginalized sections of Mumbai society.
As Adani Electricity continues its commitment to CSR initiatives, it aims to inspire other organizations to actively engage in projects that uplift the underprivileged and create a positive social change. The dedicated and enthusiastic involvement of their employees sets an example for other corporates to follow, fostering more inclusive and prosperous communities in Mumbai and beyond.
