Party Ticket Aspirants Jostle For Attention In Madhya Pradesh
Ticket aspirants from Mahidpur assembly constituency in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, were seen trying to overpower each other during the visit of PCC chief and former CM Kamal Nath at Mahidpur on Monday. Nath paid a visit to Mahidpur to brighten the poll prospects for the Congress as it has been continuously defeated in these 66 seats in the past. Most Congress leaders from Mahidpur are claiming for party tickets, including Dinesh Jain, Jitendra Mandovra, Ranchhodlal Trivedi, and Pratap Singh Gur. Some outsiders are also vying for a ticket, such as Kamal Patel, who is the president of the district Congress committee, and Vijay Singh Gautam.
During the public meeting at Mahidpur, Patel presented Nath with Lord Hanuman’s favorite weapon, mace, and praised Nath’s impeccable image. MLAs Ramlal Malviya, Dilip Gurjar, Murli Morwal, Congress leaders Vivek Yadav, and Rajesh Tiwari were present, among others.
However, an eight-year-old boy named Shivam died in a freak road mishap while Nath was addressing the public. Shivam was going to his maternal uncle’s house in Mhow when he suddenly fell off the tractor-trolley and died due to head injury. Shivam’s mother was also present at the time of the incident.
When Nath reached Mahidpur by helicopter, his supporters carrying Congress flags ran towards the copter, hitting its wings. Fortunately, no major incident happened during this chaos.
Although Mahidpur hasn’t been a favorable seat for Congress in the past, Nath’s visit may help the party improve its chances in the upcoming elections. The jostling for party ticket aspirants shows the enthusiasm among them to win and serve the people.
