Plans to bring back the much-missed 420 bus route from Bromyard to Worcester via Whitbourne are experiencing delays. The route was initially scrapped in 2022, leaving only limited services in operation. However, there had been hopes that a new 420 route would be introduced, providing an hourly service between the towns from Monday to Saturday. It was anticipated that the service would be implemented before Christmas. However, due to a requirement to go out to tender, the process has been slower than anticipated. As a result, it is now projected to start in February or March. Councillor Peter Stoddart confirmed that the new route is progressing, but not as quickly as desired. Once approved, the service will operate under a Department for Transport bus cap, with fares set at £2.50 one way and £5 return. Despite the delay, efforts are still underway to reinstate the 420 route, which will offer vital transportation options for residents in the area.
