The JD-U spokesperson, Sunil Kumar Singh, has accused BJP leaders of doing anything to create a sensation in the country. The statement was made in response to the allegations made by former Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on the ambulance contract given to one of the family members of a JD-U leader.
The spokesperson reaffirmed that the Nitish Kumar government has a zero-tolerance policy on corruption and that the state government had followed the norms before allotting or renewing any contract. He reiterated that ambulance services are a mandatory service in the healthcare sector and that transportation and referral transportation are critical aspects of this government.
Mr. Prasad had alleged that the Bihar government had given the ambulance contract to the son of JD-U Jahanabad MP Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravansi to the tune of Rs 1,600 crore. He also alleged that some companies had given lower bids to provide the same services, but the contract was not given to them.
The JD-U spokesperson maintained that the state government is committed to providing necessary services and that if BJP leaders have any objections, the state government will look into the matter. The ambulance contract controversy is yet to die down, and many are closely monitoring the situation, waiting to see if further allegations or counter-accusations arise.
In conclusion, it is clear that the situation is politically charged, and both parties will continue to make allegations against each other. Nonetheless, the welfare of the people should remain the priority, and as such, the state government is expected to ensure that it delivers essential health services to its citizens.
