Kashmir’s Women Entrepreneurs Discuss Business at JKEDI, Startup India Workshop
As the job crisis continues to affect young people in Kashmir, developing a strong startup ecosystem has become crucial. To address this issue, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) recently held a Startup India workshop for women entrepreneurs.
The director of JKEDI, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, stated that the institute is committed to providing all possible help, mentorship, and financial assistance to women entrepreneurs. Thousands of women have already been trained through dedicated centres run by JKEDI, designed to help women start their own businesses.
We will build a strong start-up environment and ensure better mentorship and idea generation. We will also ensure that women entrepreneurs benefit from all the government schemes and will get proper guidance even after establishing their businesses, added Bhat.
The workshop was aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs to overcome the challenges of starting a business, including access to finance, marketing, and talent acquisition. The startup ecosystem in Kashmir is still in its nascent stage, but events such as this one are important steps towards promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
The event highlighted the importance of startups in resolving the ongoing job crisis in Kashmir, providing an essential alternative to traditional employment avenues. It is hoped that by supporting women-led startups, more small businesses will emerge, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
