Skoda Auto Implements SAP S/4 Hana for Logistics System at Czech Republic Gearbox Plant

Skoda Auto is embarking on a major logistics overhaul at its Vrchlabí gearbox plant in the Czech Republic by adopting the SAP S/4 Hana digital platform. The carmaker’s move to the enterprise resource planning software is part of a comprehensive initiative called Project One Log, aimed at replacing legacy systems across the group. Skoda said this will be the largest logistics system changeover at the Vrchlabí plant in the past 25 years. The implementation of the SAP platform will provide a future-oriented and stable foundation for the company’s digitization strategy. It will also streamline logistics processes by merging sub-processes into a standardized solution, leading to increased efficiency, flexibility, and cost savings. The automatic gearbox assembly line has already benefited from the streamlined system, improving material procurement and stock level monitoring. Skoda plans to gradually extend the digital platform to its other Czech plants. The project also presents an opportunity to leverage the latest business intelligence tools for data analyses across the entire supply chain.
