The Congress Party has selected Jagadish Shettar, Tippannappa Kamaknoor, and NS Boseraju as candidates for the upcoming bypolls for three Karnataka Legislative Council seats, according to recent news out of India. The bypolls are scheduled for June 30, with the last day for nominations falling on June 20. The election has been called after the resignation of Chinchanasur, Laxman Savadi, and R Shankar. The congress won 135 seats in May in the election for the 224-member Karnataka assembly, unseating the ruling BJP, which only garnered 66 seats. At the end of May, eight ministers, including CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, took the oath.
