Around 8pm on Tuesday night, a group of four men and a woman gathered at a house in Gurgaon’s Housing Board colony in Sector 7. The individuals, identified as Lalit Jha, Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Neelam Azad, and Amol Shinde, were finalizing their plan to breach Parliament security as a symbolic protest on December 13. The house belonged to Vikram Sharma, also known as Vicky, and his wife Vrinda, who were struggling financially. Vicky had lost his job at a garment export factory in the city, and the family relied on income from a paying guest (PG) accommodation they owned in Hisar. Among the group, Sagar and Manoranjan had a previous connection to Vicky, having been his colleague at the garments factory and frequent visitors to his home. Neelam, who called herself Neelam Azad, was a tenant at Vicky’s PG in Hisar. On December 12, the group spent the night at Vicky’s house, where they examined a hand-drawn map of Parliament. The following day, four members of the group, including Sagar, Manoranjan, Neelam, and Amol, were arrested by Delhi Police after breaching Parliament security, while the alleged handler, Lalit, managed to escape. Later that day, Delhi Police took Vicky and his wife into custody. Their 15-year-old daughter has been under the supervision of Gurgaon police since then. Relatives have been contacted to take care of the teenager, but no one has come forward. Investigators are still trying to determine how the diverse group came together to plan the intrusion, with connections leading back to a Facebook group called ‘Bhagat Singh Fan Club.’ The police are collecting details for Delhi Police, and the investigation continues.
