Dr Nadeem visits King Hamad University of Nursing
ISLAMABAD – Caretaker Federal Minister for Health Dr Nadeem Jan paid a visit to the under-construction King Hamad University of Nursing on Thursday. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of the construction work and expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing developments.
The project manager provided a detailed briefing to Dr Nadeem Jan, stating that the construction project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. However, Dr Nadeem Jan directed the project manager to ensure the remaining work is finished within two months. In response, the project manager assured him that the deadline would be met.
Highlighting the significance of the King Hamad University of Nursing, Dr Nadeem Jan emphasized that the institution would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, enabling 500 nurses to receive their diplomas annually. This nursing university, a generous gift from Bahrain to the Pakistani government, will have a capacity of 200 nursing students.
Dr Nadeem Jan emphasized that nursing plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector, serving as its backbone. He noted that Pakistan is currently facing a shortage of nurses and highlighted the government’s integrated strategy to address this issue. The minister stated that significant reforms are underway to improve the nursing field in the country.
