SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – The Shreveport City Council has granted approval for the lease of Millennium Studios to Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and his G-Unit Film and Television Louisiana. This exciting development in the arts industry has garnered standing ovations at the council meeting, reflecting the significance of the decision.

The city-owned Millennium Studios will now be leased to 50 Cent’s production company, G-Unit Film and Television Louisiana. As a renowned musician with hits like In Da Club and Candy Shop, 50 Cent’s entrance into the Shreveport arts scene is highly anticipated.

Councilman James Green expressed his enthusiasm, stating, Millennium Studios brings a whole new, fresh breath of fresh air to our city, to this region. It’s going to be great, this was a big deal today.

The terms of the lease stipulate that G-Unit must actively produce shows without any gaps exceeding 180 days. Additionally, the building will solely be used for film, video, and music productions.

Local recording artist Ricky Latt believes that this lease will provide a valuable outlet for the youth in Shreveport, stating, I think it is going to really be beneficial for our youth. Give them an outlet, let them know that, hey, you don’t have to go outside of Shreveport.

Mayor Tom Arceneaux and Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor expressed their excitement about the future of the studio. They believe that the city’s entertainment industry will experience a resurgence, benefiting local businesses. Mayor Arceneaux stated, We have rebranded Shreveport in the entertainment industry and now we are considering ourselves back again as an entertainment mecca.

In a statement, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson expressed his excitement about building a state-of-the-art production facility, stating, Shreveport, Louisiana is a wonderful community that will be a great home for G-Unit Studios. Founding my own studio is the next step in my plan to expand G-Unit Film & Television’s output of premium, diverse content across all media and to provide more opportunities for artists, crew, and the communities that support production of that content.

The lease agreement spans 30 years, with an option to extend for an additional 15 years. G-Unit Film and Television Louisiana will take over the premises starting on January 1. While the annual rent is set at $2,400, the responsibility for maintenance, currently costing the city $180,000 annually, will fall to G-Unit.

This lease agreement marks an exciting development for Shreveport’s arts and entertainment industry, with Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson’s involvement expected to revitalize the sector. The city looks forward to welcoming G-Unit Film and Television Louisiana to Millennium Studios and embracing the opportunities it will bring for the community.
