Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province Takes Aim at Global Tourism Map
Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, located on the southern coast of Vietnam, is making significant strides to become a world-class tourist destination in Southeast Asia. With its strategic geographical location, diverse landscapes, and top-notch accommodations, the province has become a sought-after spot for resort and entertainment enthusiasts.
In its master plan for 2021-30, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province has identified tourism as one of its five key economic pillars, with the goal of securing a place on the global luxury tourism map. Trịnh Hàng, Director of the province’s Department of Tourism, recently shared the province’s plans and policies for achieving this goal.
Despite the challenges posed by the economic downturn and slow recovery in international tourism, the province’s tourism sector has shown favorable performance this year. For the first 11 months of the year, the province welcomed 13.9 million tourists, representing a 21.9% increase from the same period last year. Tourism revenues reached VNĐ14.5 trillion (US$594 million), surpassing the target and experiencing a year-on-year increase of 30%.
Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province boasts numerous advantages that contribute to its popularity as a tourist destination. Its pristine beaches, year-round warm climate, and diverse natural ecosystem make it an ideal spot for travelers. The province has also invested in improving tourism quality and building a safe environment, earning recognition as an ASEAN Clean Tourist City for two consecutive years.
The province has made substantial improvements in tourism infrastructure and facilities. Currently, it offers a total of 1,490 accommodations with over 30,600 rooms, including internationally acclaimed luxury hotels. Moreover, the province has attracted renowned international and domestic hotel brands, solidifying its position as a top-tier tourist destination.
To further enhance its tourism offerings, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province has unveiled plans to promote new night-time tourism models. By 2024, the province aims to develop at least one night-time tourism model in different localities and expand these initiatives to encompass the entire province by 2030. The plan includes the establishment of nighttime entertainment complexes and the introduction of various cultural and art performances, festivals, sports activities, night tours, and food and beverage experiences.
In addition to night-time tourism, the province is actively implementing policies and measures to attract tourists, prolong their stay, and position itself as a global tourist hotspot. Efforts focus on developing infrastructure, tourist sites, and major entertainment areas, as well as creating unique tourism products. The province also aims to strengthen digital transformation and invest in human resources to achieve significant breakthroughs in tourism.
Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province is striving to make its mark on the global tourism map and capitalize on its natural treasures and world-class amenities. With its ongoing development efforts, the province is well on its way to becoming a top-tier tourist destination in Southeast Asia and beyond.
