Amb. Malami Shehu Lauded for Participating in Azerbaijan’s Plant a Tree Initiative

The Ambassador At Large African Region, International Human Rights Commission IHRC Dr. Malami Shehu Ma’aji has received commendation for his significant contribution to creating a greener and more sustainable future. His active participation in Azerbaijan’s Plant a Tree initiative has earned him recognition and appreciation from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

During the 28th session of the Conference of the United Nations Climate Change in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Amb. Dr. Shehu Malami was presented with a certificate of commendation. The letter of appreciation emphasized his commitment to planting trees as a meaningful step towards environmental stewardship. It also highlighted how his initiatives enhance the natural beauty and ecological health of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation expressed their gratitude to Ambassador Dr. Malami Shehu, stating, Thank you for joining us in this vital effort to nurture our planet.

The conference witnessed the presence of delegates from nearly 200 nations, including the World Chairman of International Human Rights Commission IHRC, Ambassador Shahid Amir Khan. Khan met with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other global leaders, advocating for collective action to combat climate change on a global scale.

Amb. Dr. Malami Shehu Ma’aji engaged in several influential meetings during the conference. He held discussions with Ms. Jennifer Lee Morgan, the State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany, to address the pressing issue of international climate action. Additionally, he met with the Nigerian Minister of State for Environment, Mr. Balarabe Abbas Lawal, during the submission on climate change at the Nigerian Pavilion in Dubai.
