Sambalpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM-S) at Basantpur on December 24, according to Mahadeo Jaiswal, the B-school’s director. While they are yet to receive the official letter from the Prime Minister’s Office, Jaiswal confirmed that they had received an intimation regarding the PM’s visit.
The sprawling permanent campus, constructed at a cost of Rs 401 crore, stretches across 200 acres. The National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited oversaw the project management for the development of the campus. The foundation stone for the permanent campus was laid virtually by PM Modi on January 2, 2021. Initially, IIM-S operated from the campus of Silicon Institute of Technology in the Sason area.
