NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ on Monday, a platform aimed at gathering the views of India’s youth to help shape the nation’s plans towards becoming a developed country by 2047. As part of this initiative, the Prime Minister will engage with vice chancellors, heads of institutes, and faculty members from over 700 entities in workshops held at Raj Bhawans across the country.
The vision behind ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth’ is to actively involve young people in the formulation of national plans, priorities, and goals. By providing a platform for the youth to contribute their ideas, this initiative aims to kickstart the process of engaging them in building a developed India by 2047. ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ envisions a comprehensive development agenda encompassing economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance, among other key aspects.
The workshops, which will commence with the launch of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth,’ will witness the participation of esteemed figures like vice chancellors and heads of prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, and autonomous colleges. It is worth noting that both public and private institutions will be involved in this endeavor. Expected to be released in January, the Vision India@2047 document will provide the strategic roadmap for India to ascend as a developed economy. Preliminary results suggest that India has the potential to become a $30 trillion developed economy by 2047.
The Vision India@2047 document will outline the necessary structural changes and reforms required to achieve the stated objective. It will focus on various aspects, including government process re-engineering, streamlining reforms, and reducing duplication of work across ministries and departments. Additionally, the document is expected to highlight India’s global engagement in areas such as trade, investment, technology, capital, and research and development.
The initiative of seeking the youth’s views for national planning has sparked great interest and enthusiasm among various stakeholders. Niti Aayog CEO B V R Subrahamanyam emphasized the significance of the workshops, mentioning that the representation of renowned educational institutions demonstrates the commitment to incorporating diverse perspectives and expertise into the formulation of India’s roadmap.
