Ratnagiri Jets began their Shriram Capital Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) campaign with an impressive victory over Solapur Royals. The Jets’ pacers were the stars of the show, sharing 19 overs to restrict Royals to just 145 for seven. Pradeep Dadhe and Nikit Dhumal took early wickets, while rookies Kunal Thorat and Vijay Pawle combined for figures of 5/49 off eight overs. Royals’ batsman Rushabh Rathod managed an unbeaten 44, but it was not enough to prevent the Jets from cruising to victory in the 18th over.
After losing three wickets in the Powerplay, the Jets were reduced to 48/3, but Tushar Srivastan and Rohit Patil’s partnership of 62 for the fourth wicket steadied the innings. Eventually, the Jets reached the target with five wickets in hand and 16 balls remaining.
With their top-notch bowling and clinical batting, the Jets set the tone for what promises to be a successful MPL campaign. Fans around the country will be looking forward to seeing what they can do in the coming weeks.
