The president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Nazmul Hassan Papon, has expressed his desire to step down from his role due to his other commitments. Papon spoke to the media after Bangladesh’s record 546-run win over Afghanistan in the lone Test in Mirpur, stating that cricket was taking away the lion’s share of his time. Papon, who was re-elected as the BCB president last year, said that he had many other commitments besides cricket, including pharmaceuticals and politics, which he had to attend to. Despite this, Papon emphasised his determination to leave a lasting legacy in Bangladesh cricket before stepping down.
