Gurugram, Dec 9 – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has called on society to stop patronizing persons with disabilities and instead assess their abilities and expertise on merit. Speaking at the 10th National Conference on Disability, Dhankhar emphasized the need to create an environment that allows individuals with disabilities to flourish and showcase their talents.

Inaugurating the Global Resource Center of Sarthak Foundation in Sector 45, Dhankhar stressed the importance of recognizing the knowledge, abilities, and skills possessed by persons with disabilities. He urged society to move away from treating them as objects of sympathy and instead appreciate their true worth.

People with disabilities are incredibly talented and possess immense potential. It is essential for us to provide them with opportunities to contribute and excel based on their strengths, Dhankhar stated.

The Vice President’s remarks shed light on the need to shift the narrative around disability, highlighting the importance of giving individuals with disabilities a fair chance to thrive. By valuing their capabilities rather than focusing on their disabilities, society can create a more inclusive and supportive ecosystem.

The 10th National Conference on Disability served as a platform for discussions and initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. The event brought together experts, stakeholders, and advocates from across the country to share insights, best practices, and innovative solutions.

Dhankhar’s call for a merit-based approach in assessing the abilities of persons with disabilities resonated with the attendees, as it emphasized the need to harness their potential fully. By leveraging their unique talents, individuals with disabilities can make significant contributions to various fields and enrich society as a whole.

Moving forward, it is crucial for society to adopt a mindset that recognizes and embraces the diverse capabilities and potential of all individuals, regardless of disability. By providing equal opportunities, support, and accessibility, we can ensure a more inclusive society that values merit, expertise, and knowledge above all else.

The 10th National Conference on Disability served as a reminder of the importance of championing the cause of persons with disabilities and working towards a more inclusive world. With continued efforts and a shift in attitude, we can create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and succeed based on their abilities alone.
