Deoghar (Jharkhand), December 9 (ANI): BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has criticized the Congress party for the income tax raids conducted at MP Dhiraj Sahu’s premises in Jharkhand, Bengal, and Odisha, accusing the party of hollowing out the country’s entire economy.
During the ongoing raid, a staggering amount of cash, totaling at least Rs 200 crore, has been recovered across three states, making it potentially India’s largest cash recovery in income tax raids to date. The raids are linked to the Odisha-based liquor distillery group, which has ties to Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu.
Dubey revealed that as of now, the counting of cash is still ongoing, with Rs 290 crore already counted and Rs 500 crore not being ruled out. Additionally, eight lockers and ten rooms are yet to be opened, indicating the possibility of even greater amounts of cash being found. Dubey speculated that the recovered money may not belong to Sahu alone, suggesting the involvement of senior Congress figures such as the outgoing Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, or the Jharkhand government.
The raids targeted Boudh Distilleries Private Limited (BDPL) and its affiliated entities. Baldev Sahu Infra Pvt Ltd., a group company of Boudh Distilleries, is specifically linked to Dhiraj Sahu.
The recovery of unaccounted money worth Rs 200 crore from Sahu during the income tax raids has sparked protests from BJP workers, who gathered to express their dissatisfaction.
The Congress party has yet to release a statement addressing the income tax raids or the allegations made by Nishikant Dubey.
As the counting of cash continues, the true extent of the money recovered and its potential implications for political figures remains to be seen.
