President William Ruto Attends NYS Pass-Out Parade in Gilgil

President William Ruto arrived today in Gilgil, Nakuru County, for the pass-out parade of National Youth Service (NYS) graduates. The parade, marking the 87th NYS recruits pass-out ceremony, sees approximately 10,000 individuals graduating from the program. The recruits, who have undergone an intensive six-month training, showcased their exceptional march past and formation skills during a dress rehearsal earlier this week.

Deputy Director General in charge of the paramilitary training, Jamlick Chabari, expressed his congratulations to the management, instructors, and recruits for their unwavering commitment and hard work throughout the training period. The recruits were recruited in May after a nationwide mass exercise.

The pass-out parade holds significance as President Ruto is present to inspect the recruits and be part of the ceremony. He first inspected the parade upon his arrival before taking to the podium to address the graduates. President Ruto’s presence emphasizes the government’s commitment to the NYS program and highlights the importance of their role in national development.

In preparation for today’s parade, Public Service and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria received a briefing from the acting Director General of NYS, James Tembur. The discussions centered around the progress of the NYS commercialization and reengineering programs, which are currently on track as per the directive from President Ruto.

The NYS program plays a vital role in equipping young individuals with skills and empowering them to contribute to the nation’s development. The pass-out parade serves as a milestone for these recruits, marking the culmination of their training and the beginning of their journey as active and responsible citizens.

With the completion of their training, the NYS graduates are poised to make positive and meaningful contributions in various sectors of the economy, including agriculture, infrastructure, and disaster response. The skills and discipline instilled during their time at NYS will undoubtedly carry them forward as they actively participate in nation-building activities.

The NYS pass-out parade in Gilgil represents a celebration of the determination, perseverance, and hard work exhibited by the graduates. As they move on to the next chapter of their lives, they do so with a foundation of skills and values that will enable them to make a difference in their communities and the nation as a whole.

The presence of President William Ruto further solidifies the government’s commitment to investing in the youth and recognizing their immense potential in driving the country’s progress. The NYS pass-out parade stands as a testament to the achievements and aspirations of these young individuals, who have transformed into competent and empowered members of society through their training with NYS.

As the 87th NYS recruits pass-out ceremony concludes, the nation joins in celebrating their accomplishments and looks forward to witnessing their positive impact in the years to come.
