Indonesian President Joko Widodo Applauds BRI’s Support in Advancing MSMEs at UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023
JAKARTA, Indonesia, Dec. 8, 2023 – Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, commended Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) for its dedication to empowering Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the inauguration of the UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023. The event, held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on December 7, 2023, not only celebrated BRI’s 128th anniversary but also served as a platform for local MSMEs to connect with international buyers and foster their growth.
Under the theme Crafting Global Connection, the prestigious expo witnessed the participation of 700 MSMEs spanning various industries, marking the 5th edition of the exhibition. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, also praised BRI’s initiatives, citing events like UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 as crucial economic cornerstones. He further noted BRI’s commendable banking performance.

Curated MSMEs, categorized into Home Decor & Craft, Food & Beverage, Accessories & Beauty, Fashion & Textiles, and Healthcare/Wellness, participated in the three-day event. The primary objective was to connect Indonesian MSMEs with global markets, fostering their expansion and bolstering national exports. With the showcase of local competitiveness on the global stage, BRI’s commitment to uplifting MSMEs has been evident.
