Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will lead the National Celebration of International Day of Yoga in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on June 21. The mass yoga demonstration will be attended by Governor of Madhya Pradesh Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar and other prominent personalities. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the global celebration of the International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2023, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
This year’s International Day of Yoga will feature several unique events such as Yoga from the Arctic to Antarctica, Ocean Ring of Yoga, Yoga Bharatmala, and Yoga Sagarmala.
The Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force along with ITBP, BSF, and BRO will participate in creating a chain of Yoga demonstrations on Yoga Bharatmala. Yoga Sagarmala will witness Yoga demonstrations along the Indian coastline, and Yoga will be conducted on the flight deck of INS Vikrant. The event will also focus on achieving Har Aangan Yoga by introducing Yoga at the village level.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Ayush, in partnership with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Ministry of External Affairs, will host a photography contest titled Yoga My Pride on MyGov.in. Participants can upload photographs of themselves doing Yogasanas, with National and International winners being recognized in three categories. Indian missions and embassies, UN member states and the WHO GCTM office in Jamnagar will participate in the International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2023.
