India has administered 220 crore Covid vaccine doses through a digital platform called COVIN, surprising the world and surpassing expectations, said Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh. This initiative, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has not even been adopted by developed western countries. Dr Singh inaugurated the third phase of the first-ever mobile telemedicine service in Billawar, Kathua district, equipped with advanced medical facilities for people with low socio-economic backgrounds. The free telemedicine facility aims to solve accessibility, availability and affordability issues faced by people in remote areas deprived of quality medical services. The telemedicine services are at par with those provided anywhere in the world, and advanced robotic surgeries will be performed using telemedicine services in the future. Dr Singh emphasized that India has achieved technological parity with the most developed countries worldwide. The government is dedicated to the poor and is following the mantra of PM Narendra Modi – Seva, Samparan, and Start-up.
