LAHORE – The Anti-Narcotics Department of Punjab Police has made a major breakthrough in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the province by busting a notorious gang involved in supplying drugs to various universities. In a successful operation led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), five gang members, including two females, were apprehended in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Lahore.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shahroz, Shamila, Rafat Bibi, Muhammad Akbar, and Muhammad Afzal. They are believed to be operating a widespread drug network within educational institutions across Punjab. The police have stated that these suspects were facing charges in multiple drug-related cases.

The operation yielded significant results, with the recovery of a substantial quantity of Hashish and Heroin valued at millions of rupees. This successful raid comes on the heels of recent actions by the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), which foiled a drug smuggling attempt at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

In that particular incident, ANF and the Airports Security Force (ASF) apprehended an individual who had ingested capsules filled with drugs. During the subsequent investigation, four capsules containing hashish were extracted from the suspect’s stomach at Lahore’s airport. These recent operations demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to effectively combat the drug epidemic plaguing the country.

Despite the ongoing challenges posed by drug trafficking, Punjab Police and ANF continue to work together tirelessly, determined to rid the educational institutions of drug-related activities. The arrest of this notorious gang is a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of students in Punjab universities.

Speaking about the operation, a Punjab Police spokesperson said, We are fully committed to eradicating the drug menace from our society, especially from the educational institutions where our future generations are studying. We will not tolerate any illegal activities that jeopardize the health and future of our youth.

The crackdown on drug suppliers operating within universities sends a strong message to others involved in similar unlawful activities. It also serves as a reminder to educational institutions to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to safeguard their students against the dangers of drug abuse.

The battle against drugs is a global issue, and Punjab’s efforts to address this problem resonate with audiences worldwide. As communities around the globe strive to protect their youth, it is crucial to collaborate and learn from successful operations like this. By sharing information and strategies, we can collectively work towards a world free from the devastating impact of drug addiction.

The apprehension of this drug gang in Punjab universities signifies a significant victory for law enforcement and stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to creating a drug-free society. The Punjab Police and ANF remain resolute in their mission to dismantle criminal networks and ensure a safer future for the youth of Punjab.
