Former Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic defender, Ramon Vega, has claimed that Celtic is a much bigger club than Tottenham. He noted that there is a massive fan base that is faithful to the club, and the demands of playing for and managing Celtic are huge on a daily basis. Vega believes that Tottenham is very much about business, while Celtic has a family feel. He thinks that new Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglou, can bring some of the passion seen at Celtic to the North London club. Postecoglou was recently announced as the new permanent Tottenham boss, making him one of the few men to have played or managed both football clubs. Vega, who predicted that Postecoglou would rebuild and improve quickly at Spurs, feels sorry for Celtic because he did so well for the club. He believes that Postecoglou can keep Harry Kane, but if Tottenham decides to sell him, they need to do it soon, so Postecoglou can make his plans without him.
Vega, who has been advising on all aspects of football for a number of years with different football clubs and federations, including academy, stadia, and the football side, has a political background and is ambitious. Although he thought twice about running against his compatriot Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency, he considers becoming involved in football politics a path he would like to pursue. Vega believes that football has to change in various ways, and he would like to be more protective of younger players coming through. There is much that needs to be done about the financial aspect of the game and the way money controls it. He believes that if the opportunity comes up, he will definitely be interested, and his wife Claudia would be a great partner in this because of her background in football and the way she has been involved in lobbying and understands the nature of the game politically.
