A horrific accident in Limpopo has tragically claimed the lives of seven people, occurring just a day after the region’s Transport and Community Safety MEC Florence Radzilani issued a warning about reckless driving. The incident took place when a Mazda 3 allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the trailer of a Hino truck at the intersection of the N11 and D2534 roads at Slagboom outside Burgersfort, Limpopo on Friday, 1 December. MEC Radzilani had expressed concerns about the possibility of such accidents during the launch of the festive season road safety campaign on Thursday, 30 November. The driver of the Mazda, along with six other passengers, sadly lost their lives at the scene. MEC Radzilani has urged all road users to exercise caution during the festive season and ensure their safety on the roads. She extended her condolences to the grieving families, emphasizing that the responsibility for saving lives falls not only on traffic officials but also on drivers themselves.
