Two CRPF soldiers injured in IED blast in Dantewada
Dantewada, Chhattisgarh – Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers sustained injuries in an IED explosion in the Barsoor police station area, according to Dantewada Police. The incident occurred on the Barsur Palli route, where soldiers from the 195th Battalion were involved in the removal of a banner poster near a bridge.
Dantewada Police confirmed that the injured soldiers are currently receiving treatment and are in stable condition. Further details regarding the incident are still awaited.
This incident follows a similar act of violence in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on November 27, wherein suspected Naxals set ablaze several vehicles and machines used for construction works. However, no casualties were reported during that incident.
At approximately 1:30 am, the Naxals targeted the Bangali camp located under the jurisdiction of Bhansi police station. Around 14 vehicles, including four Hyvas, four pickups, one JCB machine, one crane, one sifter truck, two water tankers, and one mixer vehicle, were set on fire by the assailants, causing extensive damage to the construction equipment.
RK Burman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, revealed that around 25-30 Naxals, masquerading as villagers, were involved in the attack. After setting the vehicles ablaze, the assailants swiftly fled the scene. The police were promptly informed and were able to control the fire before it spread further.
Authorities have condemned the acts of violence, which continue to disrupt peace and development in the region. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the attacks.
Chhattisgarh, located in central India, has faced consistent challenges in countering Naxal insurgency over the years. Security forces have been actively engaged in efforts to stabilize the region and maintain law and order.
The injured soldiers’ recovery and the prevention of further violence remain the top priorities for the authorities involved. As investigations into both incidents continue, security measures are expected to be strengthened to ensure the safety of the region’s residents and security personnel.
The incidents serve as a reminder of the persistent threat posed by Naxal outfits in certain regions of India. The government remains committed to addressing these security concerns and implementing measures to protect the welfare of its citizens.
