A masked man carrying a shotgun shocked patrons and staff at a restaurant in Houston’s Chinatown when he brazenly robbed the establishment. The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division is now seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

The incident occurred on Friday, May 19 at approximately 9:05 p.m. Authorities released a surveillance video showing the unknown individual entering the restaurant located in the 10800 block of Bellaire. In the footage, the suspect can be seen walking up to the counter while brandishing a shotgun. He then points the firearm at an employee and demands cash from the register.

After obtaining the money, which was still in the cash drawer, the masked man quickly fled the location on foot. The authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers. There is a potential cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect.

The Houston Police Department has been actively investigating several recent robbery incidents in the area. Just days ago, a cashier was ambushed by armed suspects who demanded money and made off with boxes of cigarettes at a store in Braeswood. Another incident involved storage unit employees being tied up while an armed robbery suspect ransacked an office in northwest Houston. These incidents highlight the rising criminal activity in the city, causing residents and business owners to be on high alert.

With a diverse and vibrant community, Houston’s Chinatown has been a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. This disturbing robbery has left many in the area feeling concerned for their safety and the security of their businesses. Law enforcement agencies are committed to ensuring the safety of residents and will continue to work diligently to bring the perpetrator to justice.

As the investigation continues, the Houston Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in identifying the suspect. By working together, the community and law enforcement can help prevent future crimes and maintain the safety and well-being of Houston’s residents.

In times like these, it is crucial for everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The Houston Police Department continues to provide resources, support, and crime prevention initiatives to protect the city and its residents.

Please stay tuned for further updates on this investigation and other incidents occurring in Houston.
