Former Apple PR Executive Joins NBCUniversal for Strategic Communications
Bernadette Simpao, a former Apple public relations and communications executive, has been appointed as the senior vice president of strategic communications at NBCUniversal. In this role, she will be based in New York and will work closely with the strategic communications team for NBCUniversal’s entertainment and direct-to-consumer portfolio.
Simpao’s primary focus will be on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, while also supporting initiatives across various networks such as NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen True Crime, SYFY, Universal Kids, and USA Network.
Reporting to Allison Rawlings, executive vice president of strategic communications at NBCUniversal Media Group, Simpao brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Most recently, she led Apple’s global public relations and communications team for the Apple TV app, video and sports businesses, and oversaw key launches like Apple TV+, Apple News+, and Apple One.
Before her tenure with Apple, Simpao served as the vice president of corporate communications at AMC Networks and held various communications roles at Viacom. With such a diverse background, Simpao is well-equipped to handle the challenges of strategic communications in the entertainment industry.
