Two top-tier Spanish football clubs, Levante UD and Deportivo Alavés, are set to battle it out in the promotion play-offs final second leg for a coveted spot in LaLiga Santander. Both teams have had impressive seasons, with each holding automatic promotion spots at some point.
These two clubs have a rich history in LaLiga Santander, having just suffered relegation a year ago. Now, they are both eager to earn their way back to the top of Spanish football.
The playoffs have come down to Levante UD and Deportivo Alavés, who will face off in two playoff matches. The first leg was played at Mendizorroza and resulted in a scoreless draw, leaving the teams level at 0-0 heading into the second leg.
The second and final leg will be held at Estadi Ciutat de València on Saturday, June 17th, where both teams will be pushing hard to grab the last available spot in LaLiga Santander. The winner of this match will join Granada CF and UD Las Palmas in the Spanish top-flight.
Levante UD secured their spot in the final by defeating Albacete Balompié 6-1 on aggregate. Meanwhile, Deportivo Alavés won their semi-final derby match against SD Eibar 3-1 on aggregate.
Both Levante UD and Deportivo Alavés have great chances to clinch the final spot in LaLiga Santander, but it remains to be seen which team will come out on top.
