Israel’s Claim of Hamas Using Al-Shifa Hospital as a Detention Center Called ‘Misleading’ by Palestinian Group
In a recent development, a Palestinian group has refuted Israel’s claims of Hamas using Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza as a detention center for prisoners. The group, Hamas, stated that these claims by the Israeli occupation army are misleading and false, highlighting a desperate attempt to cover up their security and military failures.
Hamas further criticized the Israeli army for spreading lies and misinformation, particularly regarding their alleged detention of Zionist prisoners and the discovery of a female soldier’s body in Al-Shifa Hospital. The group firmly asserted that these accusations are baseless and merely fabricated to falsely implicate Hamas.
To support their argument, Israeli government spokesman Ofir Gendelman released videos on the X platform showcasing what he claimed to be hostages taken by Hamas to Al-Shifa Hospital after an attack on October 7. Gendelman pointed out that one of the prisoners, injured and lying on a hospital bed, was captured on video, while the other was seen being taken away while walking. The prisoners were identified as a Thai citizen and a Nepalese citizen.
Meanwhile, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari asserted in a press conference that Hamas fighters had killed female soldier Noa Marciano within Al-Shifa Hospital. However, Hamas vehemently denied these allegations and emphasized that their military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, had closely monitored and treated injured Zionist prisoners in hospitals before safely returning them to their places of detention. Consequently, Hamas regarded the Israeli military spokesman’s statements as an attempt to conceal the lies propagated by the Israeli army.
In a worrying development, it was reported that the Israeli army forcibly evacuated approximately 500 patients from Al-Shifa Hospital, including those severely injured due to relentless Israeli attacks, leaving them to fend for themselves in dire conditions.
Since the beginning of Israel’s bombing campaign on October 7, the devastating consequences have been immense. According to the latest figures, over 13,000 Palestinians, including more than 9,000 women and children, have lost their lives, with over 30,000 others sustaining injuries. Furthermore, numerous buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have been severely damaged or destroyed.
The situation has been compounded by an Israeli blockade that has disrupted essential supplies of fuel, electricity, and water to the besieged Gaza Strip, drastically reducing aid deliveries.
While the Israeli death toll stands at approximately 1,200, it is crucial to approach this issue from a balanced perspective, acknowledging different viewpoints and opinions.
The ongoing tensions between Israel and Palestine continue to exact a heavy toll on innocent lives and infrastructure. It is imperative that steps be taken towards finding a peaceful resolution and putting an end to this cycle of violence and destruction.
