Bollywood actor Nana Patekar recently found himself embroiled in a controversy when a video of him slapping a fan went viral on the internet. However, new details have emerged indicating that the incident was actually a part of a film shoot in Varanasi.

In the video, which spread like wildfire online, Patekar can be seen wearing a brown blazer and a hat when a young man approaches him with a phone in hand, seemingly wanting to take a selfie with the actor. Instead of accommodating the fan’s request, Patekar delivers a swift slap to the man’s head.

The circulating footage drew strong reactions from social media users, who criticized Patekar for his actions. Many expressed their disappointment, calling the incident rude and unacceptable.

However, Anil Sharma, the director of the film project Patekar was working on, clarified the situation. Sharma confirmed that the slap was not a real-life incident but rather a scene from their film. He explained that they were filming on the streets of Varanasi, and the scene required Patekar’s character to strike a boy who came too close to him. Unfortunately, onlookers captured the moment on their mobile phones and shared it, causing confusion and portraying Patekar in a negative light.

Sharma stressed the need for fans to understand the truth behind the video and urged caution in jumping to conclusions. He clarified that Patekar did not actually hit anyone and that the circulating video was just a part of their filmmaking process.

Nana Patekar, famous for his roles in movies like Ab Tak Chappan, Welcome, Parinda, and Wajood, was last seen in the film The Vaccine War directed by Vivek Agnihotri. At the trailer launch of the movie, he addressed rumors about his absence in the upcoming film Welcome 3, suggesting that the decision might be due to his age.

As this controversy unfolds, it serves as a reminder of how quickly misinformation can spread and create misunderstandings. As fans, it is essential to verify information before jumping to conclusions and to understand that sometimes what we see on social media may not always reflect reality.

With the clarification provided by Anil Sharma, it becomes evident that Nana Patekar’s actions were not meant to harm anyone but were rather a carefully choreographed scene for the film he was working on.
