Beloved Kenton Resident David Eugene Graves Passes Away, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love and Faith
Kenton, Tennessee mourns the loss of a treasured resident as David Eugene Graves, age 84, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on November 11, 2023. David, known affectionately as Pooh by his family, was a remarkable man who will be remembered for his unwavering love and faith.
Born on April 10, 1939, in Kenton, Tennessee, David dedicated many years of his life to AT&T/Bellsouth, where he excelled as a Professional Installation Technician. Though his professional accomplishments were noteworthy, David’s true joy came from spending time with his family. His devotion to his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Jean Adams Graves, and his daughters, Deborah Darlene Meeks and Deloras Jean Dawson, was unwavering.
David’s influence extended beyond immediate family; he was a beloved grandfather to Angela Faith O’Neal, Michael Ray Dawson, DeLeah Renee Dawson, and Katelyn Rae Strain, and a proud great-grandfather to Hunter Ray Tolley, Madison Claire O’Neal, Cheyanne Skye Porter, Cortland Mason-David Hill, Cayden Adam Hill, Abigail Grace O’Neal, Alexander Cage Hill, Andrew Kevin Dwayne Hill, and Madysen KaRae Proffitt.
As a faithful servant of the Lord, David’s life was a testament to his deep-rooted faith. His commitment to his beliefs and values touched the lives of those around him and served as an inspiration to all who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Alma Graves, as well as his infant son, Darrell Eugene Graves, and son-in-law, Steven Ray Dawson.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of David Eugene Graves will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, Tennessee on Sunday, November 19, 2023. The visitation period will commence at 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Home Health and Aspera Care Hospice for their unwavering dedication and compassionate care during this difficult time.
