Three youths and two adults have been charged by the police in Hobart following an attempted armed robbery and aggravated robbery. The group allegedly entered a convenience store demanding cigarettes and cash but left empty-handed. They returned a short time later armed with a knife and a baton, and managed to flee the scene with cash and cigarettes. The police apprehended the group early the next morning. The youths and one adult are scheduled to appear in after-hours court tonight, while the second adult is set to appear on December 20. Detectives from Hobart CIB are currently investigating the matter and are keen to speak with a witness who saw the group leaving the scene in a grey Holden Cruz. Anyone with information or who witnessed a grey Holden Cruz in the greater Hobart area around midnight is urged to contact Hobart CIB or provide information through Crime Stoppers.
