Russian company, Muslim Tour, has integrated Smart Engines technology into its official booking system for the annual Hajj pilgrimages to Mecca and Medina. The integration has reportedly made the booking process seven times faster, allowing the company to adhere to stringent documentation requirements without compromising the quality of images or data. Pilgrims must provide a Russian passport image, meningitis vaccine certification, and in some cases, additional documentation, such as proof of being Islamic or relationships for women. Smart Engines’ Smart ID Engine and GreenOCR technology allows the company to protect the data it collects without sharing it with third parties. The quota for Hajj pilgrims from Russia this year is 25,000, which matches pre-pandemic volumes, with most registrations carried out remotely. The company also offers the most powerful and secure OCR (Optical Character Recognition) solution in the market, said Ali Ibragimov, CEO of Muslim Tour. Smart Engines’ technology has reportedly allowed Muslim Tour to safeguard against various recognition errors and fines imposed in Saudi Arabia.
