Grenada Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Stabbing Incident: Victim Survives
A 21-year-old man from Grenada has been apprehended by authorities in Siskiyou County, California, on charges of attempted murder. The suspect allegedly stabbed a mutual friend who was trying to assist him home after a party. Thankfully, the victim has survived the attack.
According to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), they received a distress call just past midnight on Sunday, November 5th, concerning a stabbing victim who was en route to Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka. Deputies quickly arrived at the hospital and witnessed the 26-year-old victim, hailing from Fort Jones, being taken in on a stretcher, with apparent stab wounds. Fortunately, the SCSO has confirmed that he managed to survive his injuries.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, the victim’s girlfriend and two friends were already present. The SCSO reports that the victim’s girlfriend explained that she and her boyfriend had attended a 21st birthday party for their mutual friend, Hunter Daniel Harris. After the celebration, she offered to drive Harris back home, along with her boyfriend and two other friends. However, during the car ride, Harris apparently made alarming statements about potential self-harm or harm towards others, implying the use of a gun or a knife.
In response to Harris’s disturbing comments, the friends accompanied him into his home to ensure that he did not act upon his words. Shockingly, moments later, all three witnesses stated that the victim ran outside, screaming that Harris had stabbed him. They immediately dialed 911 and rushed the wounded man to the hospital for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, as deputies were conducting interviews, they received an additional report of gunfire in the same vicinity where the stabbing occurred. Responding swiftly, SCSO deputies, together with officers from the Yreka Police Department and the California Highway Patrol, were summoned to Harris’s residence. Employing a PA system, law enforcement officials ordered Harris out of his home, leading to his subsequent arrest.
The SCSO reveals that Hunter Daniel Harris has already been booked into the Siskiyou County Jail on charges of attempted murder. Following Harris’s arrest, detectives proceeded to search his residence. During the search, they discovered a considerable amount of blood and spent shell casings at the entrance of the home, along with multiple firearms, ammunition, and a bloodied knife scattered throughout the premises.
It is crucial for investigators to meticulously review the evidence and gather all pertinent information to ensure a thorough and fair investigation. The SCSO is committed to the pursuit of justice in this case, and they will undoubtedly make every effort to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this disturbing incident.
