Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) university has collaborated with Indocopter Pvt Ltd (ICPL) to offer a BSc Aeronautics dual degree programme from the upcoming academic session, according to officials. The university said that the aviation industry has tremendous growth prospects in the country, and students who study this course will receive a BSc Aeronautics degree from JMI and a Certificate of Recognition in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from ICPL, which will enable them to appear in the DGCA module. After passing the module exam, students will become eligible for a license, which will be issued by the DGCA. JMI has previously provided this course since 2018 and has graduated three batches of students already. The course allows graduates to get jobs at firms like DRDO, Indian Army, United Airlines, Indigo Airlines, Air India, Enord Private Limited, Far Eye Logistics, and other MRO firms in India and abroad. ICPL is a DGCA licensed CAR 145 and CAR M Maintenance Organization (MRO) for Airbus, Leonardo, and Bell Textron helicopters.
