OpenAI, the leading artificial intelligence company, made waves at their first developer conference in San Francisco with the unveiling of GPT-4 Turbo, an enhanced version of their popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT. Powering the Assistants API is Code Interpreter, a powerful tool developed by OpenAI that simultaneously writes and executes Python code in a secure execution environment. Initially launched in March for ChatGPT, Code Interpreter renders capabilities such as generating graphs and charts, processing files, and allowing assistants created with the Assistants API to iteratively solve code and mathematical problems.
The conference took an unexpected turn when Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made a surprise appearance to speak about the collaborative partnership between the two tech giants. Responding to Nadella’s praise, Altman acknowledged the strength of their partnership.
