The Congress party has called for a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into allegations made by the United Kukki Liberation Front (UKLF) chief SS Haokip, claiming that militant groups helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur and other northeastern states during elections. Congress leader Ajoy Kumar criticized the BJP for failing to manage the law and order situation in Manipur, citing recent incidents of violence and deaths. Kumar also accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP leader Ram Madhav of taking the support of anti-national forces to win elections, and called for them to be booked under the National Security Act. The Congress spokesperson demanded answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding his lack of response to the situation in Manipur.
