Haryana School Principal Detained for Allegedly Sexually Abusing 60 Students
The principal of a government girl senior secondary school in Jind district, Haryana, has been detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on suspicion of sexually abusing sixty girl students. The accused, whose name has not been disclosed, was apprehended following a formal complaint filed by the Uchana police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Indian Penal Code Section 354.
The shocking revelation came to light after fifteen schoolgirls penned a five-page letter to the President, Prime Minister, and Chief Justice of India, accusing the principal of coercing them into providing sexual favors under the guise of failing them in practical exams. Taking immediate action, the SIT, led by DSP Amit Bhatia, women’s SHO Mukesh Rani, Uchana Kalan SHO Balwan Singh, and sub-inspector Prem Kumari, arrested the principal.
DSP Amit Bhatia, in an interview with ANI, revealed that the SIT had conducted raids to apprehend the accused within and outside the state. The accused will be presented in court on Sunday. Bhatia also emphasized that the investigation would be thorough, including a review of the principal’s prior service history.
Mohammad Imran Raza, the deputy commissioner for Jind, stated that the district administration is conducting a comprehensive investigation. The statements of girls from grades six to twelve will be recorded, and appropriate action will be taken following a thorough inquiry.
