Neighboring Countries Violate Rights, Force Afghan Refugees to Return
Kabul Governor Mohammad Qassim Khalid has accused neighboring countries of violating the rights of Afghan refugees and forcibly sending them back to Afghanistan. While he did not specify any particular country, he strongly believes that the deportation of Afghan refugees goes against international and Islamic laws.
Adding to the concerns, Faizullah Jalali, the head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority of Maidan Wardak, pointed fingers at several countries for orchestrating the deportation process from Pakistan. He stated that the United States, along with NATO, plays a direct role in this incredible expulsion of refugees from Pakistan.
Governor Khalid and other officials from the Islamic Emirate have spoken out against the deportation of Afghan refugees from neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan. They argue that it violates international law and does not align with the principles of being good neighbors. Furthermore, Governor Khalid emphasized that forcing refugees out by coercion and inhumane methods is also contrary to Islamic law.
Expressing his concerns, Governor Khalid stated, Our poor Afghan refugees are forcibly deported by our neighboring countries with so much terror, cruelty, and barbarism, which is also against Islamic and international law.
Salim Haqqani, the head of the natural disaster management authority of Kabul, extended his support to the returning refugees, highlighting the willingness of the citizens to assist them in any sector. He emphasized that the Afghan people are ready to share their resources, including food, clothing, and shelter, with the refugees and welcome them with open arms.
The citizens of the country stand with the refugees, offering them food, clothing, and even the only tent we have for living. We say welcome to them and are here to serve them, stated Haqqani.
The recent deportation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan has sparked strong reactions not only within Afghanistan but also from the international community. The actions taken by these neighboring countries have raised concerns about human rights violations and have led to calls for greater accountability and protection of refugees.
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains crucial to ensure the rights and safety of Afghan refugees are respected. International organizations and governments are urged to address this issue promptly, providing support and assistance to those affected by forced deportations. The world will be closely watching as efforts are made to rectify this humanitarian crisis.
