Police Investigate Suspicious Bushfires in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast
Queensland Police are currently conducting an investigation into a series of suspicious bushfires that have occurred in the Sunshine Coast region over the past two weeks. With authorities believing that the fires were deliberately lit, it is imperative to determine the cause behind these incidents.

In addition, law enforcement officials are looking into a grass fire that occurred on Sattler Road in Meridan Plains on October 23. This fire was potentially sparked by an individual attempting to gain access to a business by cutting through a fence. Furthermore, a bushfire in Beerwah on October 21 is currently being treated as suspicious.
These incidents come at a time when Queensland is experiencing unseasonal heat and strong winds. Communities in the area have been repeatedly warned of high-to-extreme fire danger. The Queensland government’s latest fire update reveals that there are currently 76 active bushfires across the state, with 58 structures being damaged in Western Downs alone. Since October 21, fire crews have battled a staggering 900 vegetation fires.
