The 53rd Border Coordination Conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was concluded on Wednesday. The four-day-long conference held at the BSF Chhawla Camp in New Delhi mainly focused on boosting trade and bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh. Both guarding forces emphasized on speeding up developmental and infrastructure activities to aid the progress and prosperity of the region. They agreed upon curbing border crimes through simultaneous coordinated patrols in vulnerable areas and real-time information sharing. Additionally, both sides mutually agreed upon several other developmental projects, Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) in curbing trans-border crimes and increasing sports activities amongst forces of India and Bangladesh at the border. The next Director-General-level conference between the two countries is provisionally agreed to be held in Bangladesh.
