Carter, hailed as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, showcased her skills with a team-high 35 kills and a .238 hitting percentage. The talented freshman from Dubuque, Iowa, recorded 18 kills and 10 digs in the opening match against then-No. 8 BYU, securing her 23rd career double-double. Carter’s impressive stats, including her 6.25 points per set and 5.83 kills per set, placed her at the top of the Big 12 rankings for the week. This marks her third Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week award and her eighth overall weekly honor, which ties her for the 12th position in league history.
Clinton, a redshirt-freshman from Midland, Texas, also played a crucial role in K-State’s success. She boasted an incredible .538 hitting efficiency, with 29 kills and only a single error on the week. Clinton’s standout performance included an exceptional .684 attack percentage in the first match against BYU, earning her recognition as the Third Best in the Conference. Her consistent performance over the past six matches, where she reached double-figure kills in four of them, has greatly contributed to K-State’s recent success.
K-State’s impressive sweep of then-No. 8 BYU not only marked a historic achievement for the program, but it also propelled them to fifth place in the Big 12 standings. With four victories over ranked Big 12 opponents this season, the Wildcats are solidifying their position as a strong competitor in the conference.
