Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, will be handing over the keys to houses built under the ‘Shram Dham’ concept by Goa Speaker and Canacona MLA, Ramesh Tawadkar. With the aim of addressing the housing needs of disadvantaged people, Tawadkar has popularised the concept of ‘Shram Dham’. Currently, around 15 houses have been built, with the intention to build 150 homes through public participation. Individuals are encouraged to contribute a minimum amount, starting from Re 1, and dedicate a day of their lives to build houses for those in need. The concept has gained significant attention and admiration, with members of the public visiting Canacona to lend a hand in building houses for the underprivileged. Keys to some completed houses will be handed over to their new owners by Birla himself.
