Srinagar witnessed a Public Grievance Redressal Camp at New Theed Harwan, under the weekly public outreach program which is conducted by the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad. The event saw the participation of local DDC and BDC members, PRI representatives, who presented various demands and development-related issues to the Deputy Commissioner.
Several important issues such as damages caused to horticulture and agriculture crops, correction in revenue records, the establishment of SFC Depot in the area, social welfare and irrigation-related matters, protection from wild animals and other development-related demands were discussed.
The event was conducted with the aim of addressing the concerns of the local people and ensure their voices are heard. The Deputy Commissioner welcomed all concerns and assured the representatives and people that their problems will be taken up and resolved on priority.
The Block Diwas programme is an innovative idea of the administration to provide access and justice to the people. Under this programme, a camp is set up in a fixed location once a week to address the grievances of the public. The officers concerned attend the camp, listen to the public, and try to address their issues then and there.
Such events go a long way in bridging the gap between the governing authorities and the public. The public outreach programme is an excellent initiative to empower the common man by giving them access to the administration and ensuring their problems are resolved on priority.
Thus, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp at New Theed Harwan is a crucial step towards making the administration more accessible and responsive to the needs of the people. It highlights the dedication and commitment of the government to recognize the issues of the public and resolve them effectively.
