Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit has requested information regarding the agenda of the upcoming two-day special session of the state Assembly scheduled for June 19-20. Officials stated that the Governor did not object to the session’s holding. The Punjab Assembly secretariat informed the Raj Bhavan about the session’s convening in a letter, which led to a request for the agenda from the Governor’s office. The Punjab Cabinet authorized the summoning of the special session of the state Assembly. During this session, the AAP government may bring up the issue of rural development fund (RDF) and funds withheld under the National Health Mission (NHM). The Punjab government blames the BJP-led Centre for the non-release of approximately Rs 3,500 crore of RDF and has been arguing with the Centre regarding NHM funds.
