Preply, a prominent online learning marketplace, has made significant strides in the language learning industry with the opening of its first office in the United States and the appointment of two key executives. As globalization and technological advancements continue to fuel the demand for bilingualism and innovative language education solutions, the global online language learning market is projected to reach $47 billion by 2025.

With over 600 employees hailing from 60 different countries across New York, Kyiv, and Barcelona, Preply has become a prominent force in the e-learning sector. The platform connects 40,000 tutors with the world’s largest live language learning community in 180 countries. Over the past three years, Preply’s revenues have grown tenfold, and they are now doubling down on their efforts to further establish themselves as leaders in their largest market.

To drive their growth in the United States, Preply has brought onboard two experienced professionals in the form of Sofia Tavares as Chief Brand Officer and Jerry Kingkade as Chief Revenue Officer. Both Tavares and Kingkade have a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective fields. Tavares, who has previously worked with globally recognized brands such as PepsiCo and Bacardi, will lead Preply’s transformation into an iconic brand. Kingkade, with a proven track record of success at Flowspace and Houzz, will spearhead Preply’s efforts to transform communications and culture through language education.

In addition to their new hires, Preply has undergone a rebranding process in collaboration with the London-based agency Koto. This rebranding effort has resulted in a fresh logo, vibrant color palette, and improved website design, all aimed at enhancing the learning experience for users and tutors.

Preply’s expansion into the United States comes at a time when the demand for multilingual employees is at an all-time high. According to the American Council of Foreign Language Teachers, 90% of US employers rely on a multilingual workforce. However, there is a significant gap in meeting these demands, with 25% of US employers missing out on business opportunities as a result.

With their new office in New York City, Preply is well-positioned to assist US employers in gaining a competitive edge by offering language education solutions that address the existing skills gap in the labor market. The office, located in the heart of the city’s West Village, is set to house over 25 employees by the end of 2023, further bolstering Preply’s commitment to growth and better serving their US-based B2B customers and partners.

As Preply continues its journey of unlocking human potential through learning, their new brand identity and US presence reflect their dedication to providing language learning solutions to a global audience. Through their platform, Preply aims to help millions of people achieve their language learning dreams, connecting learners with qualified tutors from around the world.

Preply’s expansion into the United States and their rebranding efforts mark an exciting new phase for the company, as they strive to solidify their position as leaders in the language learning industry and meet the growing demand for language education worldwide. With their talented team and innovative platform, Preply is well-equipped to drive significant growth and make a positive impact in the realm of online language learning.
