Vancouver Crime Stoppers Releases Annual List of Most-Wanted Criminals
Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers has recently unveiled its annual list of least-wanted trick-or-treaters, which features five men wanted for various charges. The organization hopes that sharing this information will help remove these individuals from the streets, and they are encouraging the public to provide any anonymous tips that could aid in their apprehension.
Linda Annis, the executive director of Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers, revealed that the organization receives approximately 5,000 anonymous tips each year, covering a wide range of crimes, including gang-related activities and illegal weapons offenses.
The five men currently on the most-wanted list face charges related to first-degree murder, kidnapping, and other serious offenses. Their identities are as follows:
1. Cody Casey, aged 37: Casey is wanted for 17 drug and firearm offenses. He was arrested in July 2020 after Vancouver Police discovered a drug lab in a downtown condominium, where he was mixing fentanyl and carfentanil with other drugs. Casey was released on bail, but he removed his ankle monitor in April 2022 and has been missing since then.
2. Rabih Alkhalil, aged 36: Alkhalil is wanted for unlawfully being at large and conspiracy to commit murder. He managed to escape from Port Coquitlam’s North Fraser Pretrial Centre in July 2022 with the assistance of two individuals posing as contractors. Alkhalil had been on trial for murder at the time of his escape, and a jury subsequently found him guilty of first-degree murder.
3. Bith Gattang Chuol, aged 24: Chuol faces charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, break and enter, and extortion in connection with the death of Vanessa Silva in September 2021. Although Chuol’s whereabouts are unknown, Crime Stoppers suggests he may have been in Surrey, a city near Vancouver.
4. Bryan Everett O’Reilly, aged 36: O’Reilly is wanted by the Anahim Lake RCMP for unlawfully being at large and breaching conditions. He was previously convicted of manslaughter in the deaths of Matthew Hennigar and Kalvin Andy. In 2018, O’Reilly received a sentence of ten years, with five years remaining due to time already served.
5. Fabian Yul Brown, aged 49: Brown is wanted for kidnapping, assault, unlawful confinement, uttering threats, break and enter, fraud, and possession of stolen property. Crime Stoppers notes that he frequently visits Vancouver.
Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers, in collaboration with the BOLO program, is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of Casey and Alkhalil. This reward will be available until November 30, 2023.
Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information related to these individuals to Crime Stoppers. By working together, they hope to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community.
