Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ordered the creation of 10 lakh government jobs for the youth of India by the August 15 deadline, according to Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. He made the announcement during the National Rozgar Mela, where he distributed appointment letters to more than 470 candidates for various government positions. In attendance via video conferencing, the Prime Minister distributed around 70,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in various government departments and organizations. Reddy hailed the creation of meaningful employment opportunities as a catalyst for further employment generation and said that youth must become job creators rather than job seekers. The latest Rozgar Mela, which took place on June 14, marked the sixth such event since the Prime Minister inaugurated it on October 22, 2022, as a Diwali gift to the country’s youth. The Union Minister handed out appointment letters to 22 departments, including DRDO, Indian Railways, defense, health and family welfare, and the University of Hyderabad.
