Thousands Rally in Berlin and London in Solidarity with Israel, Urging Hostage Release
Berlin and London were the sites of massive rallies over the weekend as thousands of demonstrators raised their voices in support of Israel and demanded the immediate release of more than 200 hostages held by Hamas. In Berlin, crowds gathered at the iconic Brandenburg Gate, waving Israeli flags and carrying posters showing the faces of those taken hostage during Hamas’ deadly incursion into Israel earlier this month. The demonstrations in Berlin and London echoed similar sentiments expressed in Paris, where thousands gathered to demand an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and relief for its inhabitants. Malaysia, which does not maintain diplomatic relations with Israel, has seen strong support for Palestinians, with weekly rallies held outside the American Embassy to condemn the US for its backing of Israel.
